Wedding in the mountains of Utah

This late summer wedding took place at the St. Regis Deer Valley in beautiful Park City, Utah. Madison and Andrew kicked off their wedding weekend with a glamping experience for their guests with a whiskey tasting and live bluegrass music. As for the wedding day, the couple described their vision of the wedding as “mountain glamor”. They kept the colors, flowers and decorations neutral to showcase the natural beauty of Utah’s mountains. It was incredibly important to Madison and Andrew that the wedding was personal and authentic to them. Megan Robinson Photography ‘s images perfectly reflect this naturalness and authenticity.

The bride Madison still remembers it fondly: “It may sound like a cliché, but my wedding day really was the best day of my life. Michelle Leo Events took all the wants, needs and details of my vision for the day and brought it to life (I think she and her team are mind readers!). My vision for the day was glam in the mountains, but we had to make sure we kept it light and breezy given the warm August climate in Park City. Because the mountains in Park City are so beautiful in general, I wanted to keep the colors, floral arrangements and decorations neutral and light so as not to distract from the scenery and beautiful location. For our ceremony, I wanted to make sure the focus was on me and my husband and the beautiful backdrop. Artisan Bloom, helped make this a reality, with white flowers and trailing herb in the aisle and as a semi-circle to ceremony.

Apart from the general look of the wedding, the personal feel and experience of the guests was very important to me. I wanted all the guests (who had all traveled from out of town) to feel at home and comfortable. For this reason, we have farmhouse tables with large, comfortable chairs, lots of candles and a non-traditional food offering, as if our guests were eating at home.

Instead of soup, we had cheese and charcuterie boards on each table (which also served as great table decorations), we served dinner family style so our guests weren’t limited to one choice and could have a little bit of everything, and we made sure to serve some of our guests’ favorite bottles at their tables.

Then it was time to dance, and I don’t think there was a single guest who wasn’t on the dance floor the whole time. I was undecided whether I wanted a band or a DJ, so Michelle Leo suggested incorporating both. So we had a three-piece band with a saxophone playing along with the DJ and it really was the perfect mix for everyone to enjoy the dance floor.”
