French Inspired Maui Editorial

What happens when old world flair meets French charm and fuses into a real feast for the senses is shown to us by the wedding photographers Dmitri and Sandra and the event planner Couture Events with their multicultural wedding inspirations of a special kind.

The first surprise? White beaches, turquoise sea and traditional leis only play a minor role in this styled shoot, because the lead was a delightful chapel in the west of the island.

“Here, at the Steeple House at Kapalua in Maui we wanted to create something different, something Old World, French inspired and romantic with some color and depth.“ we learn from the two photographers. “Textures were important, as you can tell. Bleached fern, rustic antique lanterns, tarnished silver, petrified wood serving boards and hand made paper were among some of our favorite pieces used.”

For us, it is much more difficult to pick our favorites out of this conglomerate of details. Is it perhaps the magnificent floral arrangements by Teresa Sena Designs that enchant us with their colors and lovely fragrance? Or is it the elegant-looking stationery by Alannah Rae Calligraphy that seems to be such a wonderful connection between the old and the new world? Or maybe it is the dreamlike wedding dress from LeRu Atelier that wraps the bride in a stunning combination of seductive sexiness and timeless elegance? But it could also be the lovingly draped delicacies that make our mouth water…

“Incorporating food onto the table (that is actually edible and not solely for design) is very functional. It’s an unexpected element and gives guests something to enjoy right away when they are seated. It can also act as an icebreaker for guests if they are seated amongst other guests they may not know. Plus, who doesn’t love a cheese platter?!“ Dmitri und Sandra Photography wonder.

What makes us rave in any case is the dedicated and detailed work that everyone involved has done. Especially the event designers from Couture Events, who let all the individual elements merge into one in such an artistic way.

We have no more to say than sit back and let the imposing pictures of Dmitri and Sandra work on you…
