A Moody and Modern Twist on Fall

Black furniture and candles, black cushions and fabrics, black plates and glasses – with a special kind of family treasure event planner Payton from Promise Event Planners created this elegant inspirations for a modern fall wedding.

„This shoot was inspired by my parents wedding china.“ she told us proudly. „While everyone was registering for classic white and blue or floral china, my parents decided on this modern, hexagon shaped, onyx black hexagon set. They were way ahead of their time and passed along their love of black to me.“

Now she set herself a breathtaking memorial to this passion, with a styled shoot that shows a surprisingly refreshing side of this dark tone. Combined with deep emerald green, pops of white and assorted metals she created a modern mood, that also left room for classical elements.

Cottonwood Glen in Colorado provided the perfect backdrop for beautiful nature and modern forms to become one. And so she gifted the garden with unique floral arrangements by Yonder Floral & Décor House that were also found in the expansive bridal bouquet as well as the opulent centerpiece. Complemented with rustic wooden chairs and comfortable upholstered furniture she got herself a symbiosis of contrasts, that staged the protagonist “black china” harmoniously.

„Using my parent’s actual china in the shoot was something that was so personal and incredibly special. This shoot was a breathtaking combination of opposites that came together to create something so beautiful and seamless.“
