Something Blue – Bridal Boudoir in Bali
Bridal boudoir photography is all about capturing the sensual and intimate moments of a bride-to-be before her big day. And what better place to do that than at the luxurious Karma Kandara Resort in Uluwatu, Bali. With its breathtaking ocean views, sprawling gardens and private villas, Karma Kandara provides the perfect backdrop for a truly magical and unforgettable bridal boudoir shoot.
According to tradition, the bride should wear “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue and a Sixpence in her shoe” to the wedding. This well-known wedding custom goes back to an old English rhyme. The old symbolizes the past stage of life and the bond with the family, something new the new stage of life of marriage. The borrowed is supposed to bring luck and the blue symbolizes purity and fidelity. The lucky penny is said to bring financial luck and prosperity.
In this Bridal Boudoir, planned by by Divine Project and beautifully photographed by Ditto Dianto, “the blue” was to play a central role.
For the dress, accessories and veil, they turned to Atelier Des Modistes, a luxury bridal boutique in San Francisco known for their exquisite craftsmanship and attention to detail. The pairing of “Delilah” gown and veil is just sublime, the gown itself can be transformed into at least two beautiful looks. A see through look for intimate boudoir and a complete look as a traditional wedding gown. The intricate lace and delicate embroidery of the dress, paired with a soft and silky flowing veil, created a romantic and ethereal look that perfectly suited the setting.
To complement the dress, Sandat Floral provided a stunning bouquet of blue flowers, adding a pop of color to the soft and dreamy aesthetic. The mix of blue hydrangeas, delphiniums and thistles created a beautiful contrast against the bride’s white dress and the lush greenery of the resort.
And of course, no bridal boudoir shoot is complete without flawless hair and makeup. That’s where Windy Mulia came in, creating a soft and angelic look that enhanced the bride’s natural beauty. The subtle pink lips, flushed cheeks and natural-looking lashes added just the right amount of glow to the overall look, giving the bride a radiant and luminous appearance. Grace Susan‘s naturally delicate hairstyle varied from closed and open hair with hair accessories, in variations with and without veil.
Together, the team created a breathtaking bridal boudoir look to inspire brides-to-be and photographers alike. And combined with the stunning backdrop of Karma Kandara in Bali, the result is truly magical.
