Timeless elegance in Corsica

A centuries-old olive oil domaine, the scent of Mediterranean herbs and the story of a family that once emigrated from Corsica to the USA set the tone for Chelsea and Nick’s wedding at Domaine de Vignale in Venzolasca. The historic estate, photographed by Vincent Pennachio, provided a backdrop full of naturalness and architectural beauty. What started out as a modern destination wedding blended with the groom’s roots and the unmistakable atmosphere of the island on this day.

A love story that connected continents

Chelsea and Nick met in 2020 through their mutual friend Joe, who later officiated the wedding. Their connection grew quickly and eventually led them to Corsica, where Nick’s great-grandfather was born in the small town of Farinole. He emigrated to the USA alone at the age of 14, but some of the family still live on the island today. Some of them attended the day, organized by Share the love, who planned the wedding with great emotion and professionalism.

Guests from Arizona, various US states, Amsterdam and Corsica itself came together and reflected the couple’s international history in an impressive way.

Getting ready full of ease and family closeness

Late in the morning, the estate filled with anticipation. Chelsea got ready with her bridesmaids, mother, grandmother and aunt. She wore the Wyetta Dress by Watters, complemented by custom lace gloves that added an elegant, timeless detail to her look.

Nick started his day together with their two-year-old son Ace, his brothers and his parents. While the first photos were being taken, there was a calm, family atmosphere that characterized the entire day.

Emotional wedding ceremony in Mediterranean light

The ceremony began in the afternoon, conducted by friend Joe. The Mediterranean landscape and soft light created a natural, understated backdrop in which the officiant’s words were particularly impactful. The floristry by Langage des fleurs picked up on the surroundings and set subtle accents with cheerful, colorful flowers that blended harmoniously into the Mediterranean scenery.

Personal details by the pool

After the ceremony, cocktails and appetizers were served poolside, accompanied by a live saxophonist. A loving illustration of her dog Papa Frita appeared on the menu cards. The cocktail menu also honored her with a special signature drink, the Papa Frita Margarita. Small, humorous elements lent the celebration a personal character that was appreciated by guests from all over the world.

Dinner in the courtyard and Corsican cuisine

The dinner took place in the courtyard of the Domaine de Vignale, where a traditional Corsican veal dish was served. The gentle evening air, the historic stonework and the natural design of the courtyard created a special atmosphere. During the meal, speeches from family and friends provided touching and cheerful moments that rounded off the day in a wonderfully intimate way.

A traditional highlight

Dinner was followed by the first dance, more dancing with the family and a traditional Corsican ritual with the pièce montée, which was struck with a large bottle of champagne. This lively moment led directly into the lively part of the evening.

A night full of music and joie de vivre

The celebration that followed lasted until almost four in the morning. Guests from three countries danced together under the starry sky of Corsica. The combination of modern destination wedding, Mediterranean naturalness and family history made this wedding an experience that will be remembered forever.
