Wedding celebration on the Athens Riviera

Irene and Yiannis’ wedding was an unforgettable event that perfectly captured the magic of Greece. Although they live in New York, they share a deep love for their country of origin, Greece. It was therefore clear to them that their wedding should take place on the beautiful shores of the Athens Riviera.

The three-day wedding began with a relaxed day on the beach with friends. The next day, Irene and Yiannis welcomed their guests to a stylish dinner in the yacht marina. This pre-dinner celebration was a perfect prelude to the big event and gave guests the opportunity to enjoy the sun and sea to the full.

Irene’s wedding dress was a dream from Bridal Reflections boutique in Long Island, New York. She wore a dress by Sophia Tolli, accompanied by a bespoke veil by Christie Lauren. For the reception, Irene chose a second dress by Greek designer Ceilia Kritharioti.

The wedding decor, a collaboration between wedding planner Mood Effects and florist Comme Ca fleur, was stunning. Tall arrangements of white flowers adorned the tables and complemented the hanging chandeliers that adorned the entrance and dance floor. A central chandelier, adorned with white and green flowers, floated above a sea of fairy lights, creating an almost heavenly atmosphere. The color palette of white and green with gold accents was reflected in the cutlery, table numbers and small guest favors. The couple’s logo embroidered on each napkin was a particularly personal touch.

The wedding day began with the styling. Irene was radiant in her bespoke dress as she and her father drove to the church in a gold antique car.

The church was decorated with white and green flowers. An aisle lined with white hydrangeas and delphiniums led to a flower arch under which Yiannis was waiting for Irene. The bridesmaids in light blue satin dresses and the groomsmen in black suits walked down the aisle in front of Irene and her father. The ceremony was emotional and beautiful, a perfect prelude to the celebration of love.

After the ceremony, guests made their way to the stunning venue with spectacular sea views. An enchanting garden overlooking the sea welcomed the guests, accompanied by the melodic sounds of violin and harp, while a ballerina dressed in mirrors enchanted them with her graceful dance.

After dinner, everyone gathered on the dance floor to witness the cutting of the wedding cake, which was accompanied by sensational fireworks over the sea. The couple’s first dance, accompanied by the soulful melodies of a saxophone player in collaboration with the DJ, set the dance floor alight. Photographer Adrian Wood stayed into the evening hours and was able to capture the magical atmosphere perfectly. The party lasted until the early hours of the morning, fueled by the infectious energy of the Greek band and the DJ.

This wedding was not only a celebration of love between Irene and Yiannis, but also a celebration of Greek culture and beauty that their guests will remember forever.
