Colorful autumn elopement on Lake Geneva

An autumnal mood with its gorgeous color palette on Lake Geneva and an idyllic setting inspired event designers Mallory and Kirstie of Elevate Events to create this gorgeous Elopement editorial.

Together with a fantstic team, they crafted a multifaceted concept that they executed with great attention to detail. Kristina Lorraine accompanied this shoot with her camera, and inspires with her beautiful imagery.

From Mallory and Kirstie of Elevate Events: “One of the most bittersweet elements of living in the Midwest is experiencing the changing of the seasons. Each year, as the light fades earlier and the tones shift from bright greens to muted reds and toffees, we take delight in the magic surrounding this time of year, while also being reminded of the fleeting nature of the world around us. Having the opportunity to bring together all of Wisconsin’s sheer beauty and her most amazing qualities along the shores of Lake Geneva allowed us to create an autumnal editorial which perfectly captured the glory of this short season.

Taking inspiration from the beautiful surroundings, textures and grand landscapes of our area, our team dove head first into a storyline surrounding a fashion-forward bride and groom who both appreciated all of the Midwest’s natural elegance while also oozing sophistication and a love for the finer elements. She, divulging in her love of autumnal hues and floral details, while he took in the sheer beauty of both his bride and the expansive shoreline. In their love story, the focus was always these two and the beauty of the elements surrounding them.

From the start of the idealization of the editorial, each vendor showcased their talents effortlessly. Kelsey Malie Calligraphy provided an invitation suite that impeccably captured the color palette and uber-romantic feel of this storyline. Frontier Flowers of Fontana brought the natural elements to life with the variety and depth shown in her floral design. Expertly pairing fresh lilies and roses with dried organic items such as foraged branches and leaves created a level of sophistication and raw beauty that perfectly amplified the surroundings.

Add in the Aria gown by Ines di Santo (supplied by Ultimate Bride) and the rich burgundy tuxedo from The Black Tux, and the stage for our romantic autumnal elopement was set. The bride’s hair and makeup was done by Jillian Niemann with intentional styling direction every step of the way. Even the tones in her lipstick and eyeshadow were composed from the palette seen in the florals and linens. And finally, with a vintage, oval ring from Soha Diamond Co. and the Lucy Tiara from Maria Elena, the look was complete.

The tablescape look was intentionally left fairly neutral, to allow for the organic textures and a show-stopping oversized centerpiece to draw the eye. La Tavola’s Luke Chalk linen and Tuscany Barley napkins with the table and chairs from Event Essentials served as our elegant canvas, with details such as hand-thrown plates from JD Wolfe Pottery and glassware and flatware from The Festive Frog painted over the top. Pairing those beautiful details with a dainty yet exquisite marbled-design cake from Julie Michelle Cakes and statement floral by Frontier Flowers was the perfect final element to this breathtaking elopement editorial.

As the sun began to set on our couples’ dream day our newlyweds were whisked away on a vintage-inspired boat provided by Lake Geneva Cruise Line – a picture-perfect ending to an idyllic Wisconsin fall wedding day.”
