Dreamlike summer wedding in Greece

This dreamy July wedding was celebrated outdoors in Greece. The 17th century castle of Pyrgos Melissourgou is located in the southern part of Attica and offers stunning sea views and unique sunsets for lovers. It is one of the oldest and most historic residences in Greece and has been in a family ownership since 1836. The couple Mary and Nikolas wanted a romantic, dreamy and modern wedding to celebrate their love. Family, friends and the bride’s 95-year-old grandfather traveled from the U.S. to enjoy a fabulous night at the castle.

With the help of wedding planner Vicky Galata, they designed a fairytale wedding that was both fun and chic, just like the young couple. The bride wore a classically elegant white wedding dress by Essence of Australia with thin straps, wide leg cut, romantic train and long veil. Her bridesmaids wore dresses in a vibrant shade of old pink that exuded summer elegance and joie de vivre. The groom presented himself no less chic with a stylish suit by Straight Razor Way, black bow tie, boutonniere and sunglasses. His groomsmen also wore dark suits with black bow ties, boutonnieres and sunglasses and visibly enjoyed the joyful day. The couple was married with a Greek ceremony, the open air setting was magical with a small church in the background. A string duet with a violin and cello gave the atmosphere the royal festive touch Mary had wanted for her bridal entrance. Beforehand there was a flower girl and in pairs the closest walked in, as is customary in the USA, the bridesmaids and groomsmen. A very special moment was when the bride walked down the aisle with her father.

With the best weather, the couple could then enjoy the reception and a couple shoot on the incredibly beautiful outdoor area of the castle. A circus-like stage with fairy lights brought an indescribable magic to the reception area and dinner. The tables were delightfully summery with a long bridal party table and round guest tables. The long table without tablecloths was enchanting with large candles and endless floral garlands in green, white and soft rosé by Jim Labraco. The round tables with tablecloths were adorned with small bouquets and vintage decorative elements.

The later the evening, the more beautiful the fairy lights shone and the highlight was a fireworks display in the night sky. The Greek food and the fantastic party with lots of dancing enchanted the couple and the guests until late evening and will remain in their memories for a long time.
