Merry-go-round, a wedding at Christmas

Getting married at the most magical time of the year can be very special. This styled shoot by photographer Echo Kowalski of Kajade Photography and Anna Mahler of Anna Maria Weddings took place at the traditional German Christmas market in Frankfurt’s Old Town Römer, which has a spectacular atmosphere thanks to the surrounding medieval buildings. The Christmas decorations and fairy lights gave the whole place a cozy and intimate atmosphere.
Merry-go-round is on the one hand the iconic carousel of the Römer Christmas market, where the couple shoot took place. On the other hand, the round shape of the carousel also became the theme of this inspiration. From the wedding rings to the bridal bag, from the honey brush invitation to the welcome table, all the details were designed in rounded shapes to give the whole wedding concept a sense of harmony.

As this is a fusion wedding, it is important to maintain a good relationship between the wedding and Christmas. To maintain the wedding mood, most of the elements in this styled shoot were designed in a timeless and elegant wedding style, which created a beautiful foundation for the playful Christmas mood.
This principle also applies to bridal styling. In contrast to the busy background of the Christmas market, the wedding dress by READY-TO-DARE and the make-up by Viktoria Vildanova were discreet, simple and elegant. This meant that the feelings and atmosphere remained at the forefront of the inspiration.

The color scheme of the wedding decorations was coordinated with the evening Christmas market with its cozy and festive Christmas lights. The tables were therefore decorated in anthracite and set with romantic candle garlands and creative Christmas baubles. The floral design by Manuela Köhler from Floral Werk retained the classic and elegant wedding style with white roses. The wedding cake by Michelle’s Cake Design was complemented by cake pops and cupcakes arranged in a carousel in the style of the Christmas market. It is these special details that can be used to design a themed wedding to perfectly complete a harmonious theme.
