Evanescence and Beauty
Faded roses, dry and breakable. Still their scent reaches our noses. Patiently ancient books wait to be revived by opening their covers. A sealed treasure chest gets ready to reveal its sweet little secret…
It´s the secret of a gorgeous girl that´s about to step in front of the altar as beautiful bride. Lost in thoughts she looks into her future, expectantly she grabs her wildly looking bouquet, joyfully she sets off into a new life.
Apparently effortlessly the photographers Isabelle and Natascha from belle & sass turned less into a lot. With their incomparable sense for beauty and their artistic style they created a wonderfully natural and rustic world that revolved exclusively around a little lovingly decorated table and a tender bride.
Isabelle and Natascha told us: „We love the performative part of weddings. And we love contrasts and paradoxes because that´s what life is all about.
So the Vanitas theme that combines beauty with evanescence was the perfect inspiration for us. With our styled shoot we combined baroque still lifes with modern decoration elements. Our bridal gown was simply yet modern and antique at the same time.
The headpieces were classic but playful. The bride was still a child yet a woman. Even the cake showed its „skeleton” and was adorned with fading goods. Sensual pomegranates within the floral elements allude with baroque still lifes and combined amazingly dark colors and spiky thistles.”
Get ready and inspired by the unique pictures shot by belle & sass that proof impressively that sometimes it´s really adding by subtracting!

Old time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles today
Tomorrow will be dying.
The glorious lamp of heaven the sun,
The higher he’s a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he’s to setting.
That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times still succeed the former.
Then be not coy, but use your time,
And, while ye may, go marry;
For, having lost but once your prime,
You may forever tarry.
To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time”, Robert Herrick, 1684
