Luxury meets stylish punk at the Château

A wedding full of style and joie de vivre: Sufiyeh & Simo’s extraordinary celebration at Château de la Goujonnerie

In the heart of the French countryside, hidden away in Loge-Fougereuse, the unforgettable wedding of Sufiyeh and Simo took place. The Château de la Goujonnerie, a rarely opened jewel, provided the perfect backdrop for a celebration that was anything but ordinary. This historic property, owned by British antique collectors and interior designers, exuded a unique elegance that captivated all the guests. The choice of location was no coincidence; the connection to the owners, who live in the same neighborhood as the couple in London, gave the whole thing a particularly personal touch.

Sufiyeh and Simo, who met on a fateful New Year’s Eve 2017 in Soho, celebrated their love in a way that perfectly reflected their personalities and unique style. Sufiyeh, a freelance curator and editor, was radiant in a bespoke Vivienne Westwood wedding dress that was stunning in every way. The design, one of the last by the famous designer before her death, combined classic glamor with modern elements: detachable sleeves, a detachable train and a floral, beaded lace pattern that gave the dress a subtle sparkle. The bride combined the dress with accessories she had altered herself, making a statement of individuality and creativity.

Simo, the co-owner of Bar Dram in Soho, London, was every bit as stylish as his bride. He wore a white kilt, a tribute to his love of Scotch whisky, teamed with a white lace shirt and a playful pussy-bow tie. His tattooed arms were not hidden but proudly displayed, adding a bold and distinctive touch to his look.

The wedding guests were invited to wear their most colorful and extravagant outfits, transforming the Château into a vibrant stage for fashion and style. It was as if a touch of French Met Gala charm filled the atmosphere. The decorations reflected the unique combination of luxury and punk that the couple loved. Notably, the tables were decorated without flowers. The bridal bouquet, consisting of white roses with hand-painted gold tips and white and beige rose arches, was a perfect complement to the classic French elegance that Sufiyeh had requested.

The day itself was a single, unforgettable celebration of love, life and freedom. With no rigid timetables, the guests enjoyed the freedom of the moment. They laughed, danced and partied until the early hours of the morning, while the estate’s fields and the imposing château in the background provided a romantic yet opulent backdrop.

Sufiyeh and Simo created a wedding that looked like an elaborate production, yet it was full of authentic moments and untamed joy that photographer Tammy Shun captured perfectly forever. It was a celebration of life that reminded us of the beauty of spontaneity and that the best moments are often the ones that happen unplanned and untethered.
