A Coastal Garden Party Wedding

This was the beautiful wedding of Angela and Anthony in North Carolina. The stylish garden party under a beautiful marquee roof in white, cream, gold and pastel green impressed with many lovely individual details.

When Angela and her friend, Dana, made the spontaneous decision to purchase last-minute tickets for a Luke Bryan concert on a random Thursday night, Angela was not expecting to meet her soulmate. Since they didn’t have the best view from their spot on the lawn at the outdoor concert, Angela and Dana moved closer to the middle and struck up a conversation with Anthony and his friends. Ultimately, this led to Angela and Anthony dancing and Anthony asking Angela for her number.

As the couple walked around Lake Lynn with their dog, Airlie, in tow and with the fall foliage around them, Anthony dropped to one knee and asked Angela to be his wife. As he popped the question, Airlie put her head on his knee as if she was giving her approval.

Knowing they wanted to have an outdoor wedding in Wilmington, North Carolina, the bride and groom-to-be chose Airlie Gardens as their venue because of its coastal garden vibes, picturesque grounds, multiple lawn options, proximity to Wrightsville Beach, and access to the docks. It didn’t hurt that their beloved dog shared the venue’s name.

Angela and Anthony wanted to focus on the natural beauty of the season, and their spring wedding date aligned perfectly with the Airlie Garden blooms. The couple exchanged their vows in the Pergola Garden, with its natural aisle, pergola, and fountain backdrop.

A tent was set up on the Oak Lawn for the reception and was surrounded by string lights, cocktail tables, and a photo booth featuring the wedding hashtag, “Happily Ever Gasper”, with the 500-year-old southern live oak in the background.

The couple hired Shauna Loves Planning as their wedding planner and Anna Taylor as their photographer. Unique details such as the invitation suite with a custom crest, greenery covered light fixture above the dance floor, champagne tower, flower crowns and leis for guests, and the live watercolor painting during the reception helped create the whimsical and southern wedding celebration of which the bride and groom dreamed.
