A lilac spring dream

Today, let’s gather fresh moments of happiness and take a poetic journey into spring. The time we are experiencing forces us to focus on the essentials and reinvent ourselves. We are in search of positive energies, colors, light, love and joy.

Floral designer Hannah Hunt of Golden Thistle Design conjured up a liaison of soft lilac tones, bright pinks and elegant whites with this editorial. We are impressed by the symbiosis of elegance and playfulness, the art of uniting clean lines and soft curves, and the talent of artfully combining detail-loving components under the aspect of naturalness.

Delightfully, we immerse ourselves in this springtime atmosphere with gorgeously designed floral compositions by Golden Thistle Design, an artfully arranged cake by Artsy Cakesy, stylish stationery by Champagne Maker, lovely calligraphy by Bonnie Clark Calligraphy and lots of cheerful color accents. The striking bride is feminine and seductive in her gown dream by Monique Lhuillier.

Impressed, we marvel at the impressions of fine art photographer Megan Sheppard, who captured the team’s multifaceted vision in a poetic imagery.

Hannah Hunt von Golden Thistle Design: “ In the planning stages of this photoshoot, we discussed the importance of making a wedding personal with details and design elements that tell the couple’s story. We also imagined a bride who dreamed of a western wedding while still honoring her cultural heritage.

Our lovely model is half Vietnamese, so we immediately wanted to incorporate elements from the Vietnamese culture. The sacred tea ceremony is a traditional moment where families offer gifts to the couple, which traditionally include family pieces of jewelry. The bride’s earrings are lavender jade from Vietnam, and the gold bangles in the flatlays are also from Vietnam.

We imagined that the bride’s love of birds came from her grandfather who was an avid bird watcher.  She spent many a happy childhood summer traveling with him in search of his favorite avian species. To honor his memory, the bride incorporated birds into her bridal design; even borrowing her grandmother’s beloved Bavarian china with beautiful Asian birds depicted in the pattern.  The artistic vision of Artsy Cakesy carried this theme into the cake’s design; mimicking the elegant birds from the china pattern. The bride even played with delicate binoculars to investigate the birds around the venue.

The venue itself was chosen for both its stunning light and classic historic Southern charm; ideal for a bride who has a strong sense of heritage.”
