Intimate wedding at the Grand Hotel Tremezzo
Sam and Karel knew without a doubt that Italy was the perfect place for their wedding in early September. One of the most special parts of wedding planning is the connection with the venue where you are celebrating.
Sam and Karel found their “place” at the iconic Grand Hotel Tremezzo in the heart of breathtaking Lake Como. Italy not only has to do with the bride’s Italian heritage, but also with the couple’s love of incredible cuisine and desire for a unique and intimate experience with their family. As both the bride and groom have full and busy professional and personal lives in Canada, they wanted a relaxed experience for them and their guests in a small setting.
Both wanted to showcase the upscale, timeless and iconic space while incorporating elements of natural beauty, light and romance in a way that felt authentic to them. The couple described their ideal celebration with words such as “heavenly, passionate, luxurious, timeless, thoughtful, intimate, magical, romantic, family-oriented and naturally beautiful”.
To bring the details to life, they opted for a beautiful muted pastel color palette to highlight the lavender hue of the wedding dress. The warm colors and mixed neutral tones created a sense of lightness and went well with the location.
Sam and Karel opted for a talented international vendor team with Krissy Campbell Celebrations from the USA for the planning and design, the Italian floral designers Bird & Bumble and the stationery of Siwo Studioto create stunning moments with fabrics, paper goods and subtle floral embellishments that brought together the romantic and upscale space they were looking for.
The stunning invitations and stationery by Siwo Studio were a truly personal touch, reflecting the inspiration of the venue and the thoughtful luxury of the whole event. At each seat, each guest received a unique menu and a personalized, handwritten place card, both composed with color, texture and soft details.
The day was perfectly planned, from quiet moments on the hotel pier to a boat trip with the family waving from the shore. The wedding ceremony and the delicious dinner were right on the lake with an incredible view. As a highlight, live string music created a special atmosphere.
