Light and minimalist spring inspirations

Minimalism does not mean doing without a lot. Rather, it is the art of focusing on the essentials and achieving great effect with small steps.

Pale colors, delicate flower arrangements and a natural bride – the expressive photographs of wedding photographer Kiki Uyede prove it: Minimalism sets accents.

All she needs is an empty room, its walls are bare and blue-grey. Even shy and reserved, they emphasize the intensity and beauty of the details.

Kiki Uyede told: „Our minimal and Spring filled editorial was shot at the Settlement Building in Vancouver, BC Canada. This urban brewing winery with large industrial windows and skylights added character and unique lighting and shadows to the shoot. Our inspiration from the editorial draws from the aesthetic of wabi sabi, modern, and minimalism. Spring flowers such as helleborus, tulips, and sweetpeas with fresh greenery and vines were the highlight and focus of the shoot.

Hanaki Floral Design created a tablescape of bud vases with the spring blooms and we styled it with light grey table linens, silver cutlery, white modern dinnerware and chairs, and minimal decor pieces to complement everything together in the space. Hanaki also created a pair of fresh helleborus earrings and the minimal yet whimsical Spring bouquet.

It was perfectly paired with the 2 piece bridal separates from local Vancouver based dress designers- Keira & Karen from Fern and Moon. Makeup and hair was done by makeup artist Myroslava. We opted for a minimal style makeup and simple straightened hairstyle for a more modern look. Jessica from Penscript on 6th created a handwritten love letter and a set of invites on handmade deckle edge paper with vellum envelope.

We styled and added details to the flatlays with Spring blooms and decor pieces that reflects the overall theme of our editorial. We hope this editorial will bring inspiration to those that are fans of clean minimal style weddings or those that are looking for alternate ideas to the more lush and extravagant weddings. “

And now we are looking forward to enjoy the fabulous world of pictures of Kiki Uyede with you.
