Modern citrus inspired wedding editorial

Today we travel with you to Seatle to marvel at a bright, bold color palette that reflects the spirit of spring in such a vibrant way. Wedding designer Alexandra Hamilton of Willow & Ivy Events loves to be inspired by fresh flowers, vibrant colors, playful patterns and all things sparkly.

With this editorial, she proves her sense for artistic and stylish concepts and her passion for individual and creative details. Tetiana Photography captured the designer’s vision in a stunning imagery that immediately captivates us.

From Alex of Willow & Ivy Events: “After a dreary and grey Seattle winter there is nothing better than a bright, punchy pop of color. Inspired by the exciting tones of grapefruit, oranges, and lemons, this citrus inspired wedding design combines fine art photography, soft dreamy details and vibrant, fluffy florals which all stand in juxtaposition with the defunct torpedo warehouse venue.

This historic landmark is the perfect backdrop for such a modern, unique affair as it lets the perfectly wild florals from Callarose and Co stand out both on the old fireplace used as a ceremony spot and on the fairly neutral tablescape with rentals from CORT Party Rentals.

The subtle color movement you find in the floral centerpieces pairs perfectly with the uniquely half-moon shaped dinner menus and mustard colored place cards, which mimic the same shape, created by the uber talented Crystal of The Fancy Cat Studio. The fresh fruit accompanying the centerpieces only sets off the colors in the florals and brings everything back to the original inspiration.

If there wasn’t enough intrigue on the table, move next to the mustard colored cake – truly a masterpiece – created by the dynamic female duo at Lady Grey. The textured edge and white detailing on the front are so simple yet create a huge wow factor.

Not to be outdone by the details, the couple, Marissa and Aaron, add another funky element to this fine art setup. The suit worn by the groom is nothing short of amazing. With a gorgeous silver and mauve floral embroidered pant, mauve double-breasted jacket, and black velvet bowtie you just can’t look away. That is, unless you sneak a peek at the bride who is wearing a stunning gown from The Dress Theory Seattle featuring fully beaded sleeves! Her hair and makeup are absolute perfection, crafted by Jen Lagers, in a soft natural glam made all the better by Riot of Flowers accessories.
