Old World Wedding Inspirations

European architecture, French charm and royal flair are the forerunners of these Old World wedding inspirations.

With the gates of the imperial estate, the door to a young bridal couple´s future opens. To us it reveals the past.

Amazed we look back into a time when white walls were adorned with gold and stucco, and crowned oneself with precious jewelry. An era where one celebrated life on rich covered tables and raised the glasses in the flickering candlelight.

Every detail is handpicked, ready for a glittering feast to honor love. For a moment, it feels like we are actually in an ancient castle of the Old World. But then, the present catches up with us…

„Our overall theme for this shoot was to highlight an old world style.“ Photographer Amy Caroline said. „Therefore we brought in vendors from all over the world to showcase the talents of this incredible wedding industry that stretches worldwide.“

She herself comes from Denver, Colorado, where she also found the perfect location for her visions. „It is actually the Colorado Springs high school. You walk inside and are instantly transported to Europe. Since we couldn’t travel to France for this shoot to come to life, this was the next-best-thing.“

“We”, means event planner and floral designer Alice from Kristopher & Co., among others, who didn´t hesitate a second to came from New Zealand for a unique project like this and to prove her talents. For example, when choosing the flowers, she got inspired by the color palette of French gardens and incorporated them into her floral artworks.

In the end, the authentic motifs were rounded off by a stylish wedding dress from the Australian designer Karen Willis Holmes, as well as the spectacular stationery by Custom Crafted Calligraphy.

Especially with details like these, photographer Amy Caroline breathed new life into long forgotten times. With her impressive pictures she takes us on this unique journey…
