Pastel editorial in Tuscany
A very special fine art wedding editorial took place in October in picturesque Tuscany. Inspired by the history and ancient charm of Villa Sermolli in Buggiano Castello, a small village nestled in the rolling hills and olive groves of the region, an extraordinary staging was created in pastel colors that captured the beauty and nostalgia of the Italian landscape.
Villa Sermolli, an impressive building from the 16th century, served not only as a backdrop but also as a source of inspiration. The wedding photographers, who themselves had married at this enchanting location in 2012, felt a deep connection to the villa and saw it as a special honor to create a shoot in a place that was of great personal significance to them. The historic atmosphere of the villa was cleverly used to create a wedding theme that brought to life the elegance and timeless appeal of ancient Roman times. Marble elements such as candlesticks, small marble busts as escord cards and guest favors as well as a marble cake plate were lovingly selected and arranged to emphasize the ancient aesthetic.
At the center of the setting was a long, elaborately laid table in the villa’s limonaia. With an unerring eye for detail, it was designed by the photographer’s mother, Stil(l)leben Deko. Exquisite table settings and stylish chairs from Weds4rent were added to complete the overall picture. The soft colors used throughout the decor and arrangement created a calming yet sophisticated atmosphere.
Another highlight was the choice of stationery, for which the talented designer Adrienne from White & Berry could be won over. Her delicate and detailed cards harmonized perfectly with the romantic ambience. The wedding dress, a masterpiece by Galia Lahav, was a central element of the editorial and was provided by Constanze from Bridalboutique Baden-Baden. The bride’s iconic look was created by renowned hair artist Frank Giacone from Tuscany, while fine jewelry by Juvelan added the finishing touches.
The undisputed floral highlight of the shoot was the “Spilling Car” – a vintage Fiat 500 that was covered all over with flowers in pastel colors and acted as a kind of “flower fountain”. The flowers literally poured out of the car, creating a dreamlike image that perfectly reflected the romance and blooming splendor of Tuscany. This unique floral arrangement became the absolute statement piece of the editorial and added a special touch of magic and opulence to the entire set-up.
The wedding editorial at Villa Sermolli was a successful homage to Tuscany and the art of fine art wedding photography. It combined historical elegance with modern, creative elements and created a dreamlike setting.
