Wedding dream in Sicily at Donnafugata Castel
Amidst the picturesque scenery of southern Italy, in the enchanting region of Sicily, a wedding shoot took place, photographed by Clara H photographe, which seemed to have sprung from a fairy tale. The Donnafugata Castel, a historical jewel in Ragusa, provided the majestic backdrop for this unforgettable day.
The wedding dress by Made bride, a masterpiece made of silk tulle, enchanted with tiny floral pearls that reached down to the hips. A V-neckline and back neckline gave the dress an elegant touch, while the lavish tulle pleats exuded an aura of grace and gracefulness with every step. The long puffed sleeves with fringes and artfully decorated cuffs added a touch of romance to the ensemble.
The name “Donnafugata”, which translates as “runaway lady”, lent the fortress an aura of mystery. Originally built in the 10th century, the castle underwent a neo-Gothic redesign in the 19th century. The warm tones of the stone blended harmoniously with the surrounding landscape, bathed in the warm light of the southern Italian sun. It was a place full of history and charm, the perfect setting.
The wedding concept was a tribute to the beauty and traditions of Sicily. The idea of incorporating local plants and fruit into the decorations gave the celebration an authentic touch. From the wild grasses to the juicy lemons and figs, every detail was carefully selected by Miss rose to capture the essence of this enchanting region.
Sicily’s geographical location allows bridal couples to plan their wedding until late fall without having to forgo the warm Mediterranean climate. And thanks to the attractive prices, Sicily is not only a romantic but also a budget-friendly choice for couples who want to celebrate their big day in a unique and unforgettable setting.
