Enchanting summer wedding in light blue and rosé
Joanna and John literally bumped into each other one evening in Windsor, UK. Sparks flew like in a Hollywood movie and they realized that they had a lot in common. Over the next six years, Joanna and John traveled the world together. In August 2020, they got engaged in Sardinia and two years later they welcomed their sweet daughter Theodora, who walked down the aisle with her mother at the wedding ceremony.
The wedding took place in August at the breathtaking Château de Siradan in the foothills of the Pyrenees in southwest France. This beautiful property offers a view of the mountains and the extensive grounds were perfect for the celebrations. Mark from Awardweddings photographed this unique day from the preparations through to the evening.
Joanna chose two beautiful Vera Wang dresses from the Bridal Indulgence boutique in Surrey, UK. Her dress for the ceremony was a romantic strapless princess gown made of airy tulle with mesh on the outer layer to create a cloud-like volume. The hand pleated bodice ended with an open back and a stunning mikado bow detail. In the evening, Joanna wore an off-white tulle dress that was covered from head to toe in glittering sequins and had a fishtail cut. The talented seamstress at Bridal Indulgence added the delicate diamond straps that finished off the dress perfectly.
Joanna and John chose a timeless, elegant and romantic design for their wedding, which they realized with wedding planner Clémentine from Awardweddings. The color palette consisted of light blue, white, cream and subtle accents of antique pink and café au lait. The magical ceremony took place under antique chandeliers in front of a breathtaking floral arch. Flowers and candles along the corridor created an intimate atmosphere.
The cocktail reception took place both inside the castle and outside. Dinner was served in a clear crystal marquee under a sky full of fairy lights, providing a view of the castle. There were three long tables with wooden chairs in cross-back style. The tables were decorated with a central sky-blue gauze table runner. There was a flower arrangement on each table, with cream and light blue candles in antique brass and crystal candlesticks. A few tea lights added to the warm glow on the tables. In addition, blue cotton napkins, pretty stationery with light blue and navy blue name tags, gold cutlery and blue glasses rounded off this beautiful timeless tablescape.
In the evening we had the typical French wedding cake made from cream puffs. And afterwards, the couple danced exuberantly with their guests and celebrated this wonderful day.
